***Newly Edited: May 2015

Sometimes, the Fates have other plans in mind.

Ryanne Arden was on track to becoming Stormfield High School’s Valedictorian. Being the shy, studious type, she’d always done her own thing. That all changed with a drunk driver. With the death of her mother, Ryanne became more alone than she’d ever been. With no friends or family to turn to, a local woman named Jane offered to help Ryanne in her time of need.

A visit to the local bookstore changed Ryanne’s life forever. That’s where she met Colton Wagner, who awoke something in Ryanne she didn’t know she had. Being the only non-mage to ever gain magic, paints a target on Ryanne’s back for it has been prophesized that a non-mage female would end the chaos created by rogue mages, the Gadramicks. Dravin, their manipulative leader, will do anything within his power to prevent the prophecy from being fulfilled.

Finding out that she's an intricate part to ending a prophesized war, Ryanne has the weight of all mages on her shoulders. With the help of Colton and his family, along with a healer, a dream-walker, and a loud-mouthed mage, Ryanne sets out on the journey of a lifetime.

BlackMoon Beginnings is part one in the five-part Prophesized Series.

OH MY GOSH! OMG! OMG!
Where do I begin? I love all your good guys!! I hate all the bad guys!! lol
OMG I have already read all three books of this series and I have to tell you that I have never been so interested in any of my ebooks to where I had to reread them twice in what 4 days maybe 5... I'm not even joking about that.
I love Ryanne and Colton so much and knew they had to get together... Sorry readers but they belong together and since I've already read all three books I already know.. lol
I can't get enough of all of Ryanne's new friends who have become her family. I hate the bad guys and they make me sick.. **smacks Dravin** This is the best good verses evil book I've red in so long and I read all the time. The story line is interesting and humorous and at times so brutal that it seriously makes me cry. My heart goes out to Ryanne and how her life has been with evil class mates and then her mother dies and now having to deal with a mage lunatic.. She deserves to find love and happiness.

It breaks my heart to think that there are only four books to this series and now I have to try and be patient for the fourth to come out some time between Thanksgiving and Christmas?? This is going to be agony. Please, please, please hurry and get that fourth book out. =)

Thank you Katlyn Holt for this series and just an fyi I have become one of your biggest fans now. =D

Ryanne is a studious, driven young lady. Nearly invisible in high school, she considers her life boring up to the point Colton enters her life. Colton's mere presence makes Ryanne's magic go crazy. Yes, I said magic.....something she never even knew she possessed. Now that it has been awakened people are coming out of everywhere trying to use her. Ryanne is meant for greatness beyond being a scholar she is the Prophesized One.
Ok yes I agree that this book has some editing issues. It could use another round of grammar edits, but the story is excellent. This author develops her characters well and they have depth. It is different and really pulls the reader in. I think that this is a solid start to the series, and reading this one makes me want to finish the whole series. I want to see if Ryanne can pull it all off, and if her and Colton are truly meant to be. I really enjoyed myself reading this book and I look forward to the next ones. I am glad I made my own decisions and didn't follow some of the reviews previously posted... I would have missed a great book!

In full disclosure, author is the daughter of my husband's cousin. Read the book as show of support for family fully prepared to applaud her effort publicly but ready to state things such as "I liked it OK, but not my cup of tea. Not really into the genre, but if you like that sort of thing..." Boy am I happy to say I was WRONG! This is a well written book. Enough suspense and pacing to have me reading just one more chapter after midnight, just one more....It is a YA novel, so there is a bit of teen angst, low self esteem, trying to find place in world, does he like me, etc. However, there is also plenty of conflict and suspense to keep you reading to try and figure out the big picture. The author has made it clear that this is intended to be book 1 of a 4 part series, and she does an excellent job of using this book as an introduction for the series. There are a lot of unanswered questions, but in such a way as to make you anticipate eagerly the next installment. I very much look forward to book 2 and see great things happening for this author.

This book isI amazing this is the second time around and am hanging out for the fourth books. The characters are amazing I love the dynamics between the main characters. Whilst you sometimes want to smack Colton for how he acts sometimes you still woul like to keep him for yourself. I think what makes this a great book is that this is just not a boy/girl thing but it is a group of young adult together. I love. The interaction, fun they have together, the humour and most of all the group together. There are too many books out there that are all abou whoo is me please save me. Not this book Ry will try her best to be brave and strong even when all she wants o do is crawl into a ball. I love Calton and LIam you just want to take him home. I would recommend this series to anyone and if you haven't read this yet download now. Worth more than 5 stars

5.0 out of 5 stars wow, first kindle book to re-read!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on January 27, 2014
I was really sceptical about reading this book as the summary indicated that she was a `prophecy` girl, which I consider over-used and unoriginal however I was pleasantly surprised. I was so impressed with the book and I was so confident I would enjoy the next one, I bought it half way through reading this one! The main character started as lonely, weak and insignificant and bloomed into a strong, great character that I couldn't help but fall in love with. Probably the best aspect about this book were the relationships in the group. Never before have I been so drawn into a friendship circle/family that it felt like I was there. The romance was slow in this book but, as a reader of the whole series, I can promise it comes in leaps and bounds. I was so impressed with this book I couldn't not review and am proud to say this is my first review for a fantastic book which should be more well known.

A good storyline but too long drawn out. The writer has developed the characters well and has a good plot. However the main character got on my nerves and there was too much of the same thing happening both with the plot and romance. She is suppose to be a powerful mage yet I found her clingy and needed alot of care from all the males. She had all the hot males pining for her which was too cliche for me. Recommended for all ages.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good read...for young or older adults

I was looking for something new and I found it reading this book. Yes it was a freebie and I was expecting to have to invest in the other three if I liked it. But I liked the fact that it was an easy read with characters you easily identify with and find yourself amused with the witty remarks and friendly banter. The plot is has enough to keep you interested when it may feel a bit of a go slow in places.

But for me, the author has taken all my personally favourite powers, fantasy creatures and book/film references and put them into one book. At first, I thought it was a bit of a rip off but I soon realised if I wrote a fantasy book this is what I would do and it does add to the appeal of the book.

So on to buying book 2...

This series is still one of my favourites. I have read and re-read about 30-40 times, I think it’s the innocence vs will of Steele and the f mc is not some simpering barbie although she has known tragedy. The family/friends” dynamic is brill lol moments, aw’d by the lengths someone will go to save someone they love this, their is a couple of of cliff hangers but the series is complete (Although I wish that wasn’t the case I neeeed more) so you don’t have to wait for the next book. 5***

I don't normally leave reviews although I read a lot, but had to leave one for this book series! I couldn't put the books down!
I have found myself moving away from paranormal romance stuff as I haven't read anything stay up all night worthy lately until now,
this book is fantastic and definitely worth a read! I couldn't have asked for more from a book. There was romance, excitement and most of all lots of gorgeous men!
I cannot wait for the third book, very well done from me Kaitlyn!
